Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy
This is a technique for the treatment of anterior cruciate ligament tears in dogs and is the recommended treatment for most patients with ACL injury. One of the important functions of the anterior cruciate ligament is to prevent forward and backward sliding of the femur on the tibia bone, also know as drawer motion. The leveling of the plateau eliminates the need for the anterior cruciate ligament.
